Fault Code: HF
Heater Fault Diagnosis
Resolving issues related to the water heater element and circuit interaction.
Introduction
A Heater Fault (HF) indicates the SunHopper®-D has detected an abnormal condition in the tank's heating element or the power cable connecting to it.
This could be caused by an open circuit (burned out element), a short circuit, or incorrect wiring impedance detection.
Troubleshooting Steps
Resistance Test
1
Turn off power and measure element resistance.
2
Check if resistance matches element rating.
3
Verify no continuity between element and tank.
Connection Check
1
Ensure terminal blocks are securely tightened.
2
Check for signs of overheating or melting.
3
Verify the heater thermostat is closed.
