Troubleshooting Item: No Power

Unresponsive Unit Diagnosis

Resolving issues when the unit shows no display, no LED indicators, or fails to power on completely.

Introduction

An unresponsive SunHopper®-D unit usually indicates a total lack of power from all primary sources or a triggered safety disconnect/protective fuse.

The system is designed to power up directly from the PV solar array once minimum startup voltage is available, or from the AC grid line (if wired).

Troubleshooting Steps

Input Power Verification

1 Check if the solar PV disconnect switch is in the "ON" position.
2 Verify that there is sufficient daylight and that open-circuit PV voltage is above 75V DC.
3 If using AC grid backup, verify that the AC breaker is on and 120/240V AC is present at terminals.
4 Check for any loose wire connections at the DC and AC terminal blocks.
5 Ensure PV polarities (+ and -) are correct.

System Reset & Fuse Check

1 Perform a full power cycle: Switch off both DC and AC supply lines, wait 2 minutes, then turn on DC followed by AC.
2 If the unit was shut down and powered up quickly it will enter a sleep state for 8 minutes. Press the center button to bypass this sleep state.
3 Check external fuses and breakers for continuity.
